3rd Game, State of Origin, Suncorp Stadium
Was really excited about this game. Queensland has already won the series because we have won the first two games in Melbourne and Sydney. But this game is on home turf and we were going for a 3 – nil whitewash in front of a home crowd.
I went with Justine, my brother Marty and my friends Ron & Heather. We arrived early enough to see the Queensland Bus arrive.
Queensland’s State of Origin side received a rowdy welcome to Suncorp Stadium as the team bus headed down Caxton Street. Thousands of maroon’s fans packed the street to give our team a passionate welcome. I don’t know what other motivation they need to know that their state is behind them.
The atmosphere is always electrifying when you enter Suncorp Stadium, even more so for a State of Origin game. We had terrific seats in the 2nd row behind the goal posts. It was awesome being very close to all the action – you can hear the thumps of the tackles … almost feel it.
Jus was very happy to get close to Darren Lockyer, little Alfie was running around … and apparently the cop just in front of us was alright too.

The game was awesome. Unfortunately New South Wales came up with a win. There were a few ‘not so right’ calls from the umpire, but we won’t go there.
We all had a really fun night and can’t wait to go again next year.
